Isabella Martens, Reporter

My name is Isabella Martens, and I am in 10th grade at Davenport West.  My position on the staff is a writer.  I have been dancing since I was three, and I am on the dance team at West.  I like to read and spend time with my friends during my free time.  My goals while on news staff are to get better at writing and learn more about photography.  I think the newspaper will help me improve on interviewing and meeting more people around the school.

Alyssa Broer ‘22 practices jumps right before she goes on with her team to do their state lyrical dance. In addition to their state competition the dance team danced at halftime for basketball and football games. “One thing I really enjoy about the dance team is our basketball season. It’s always so fun when we are in the hallway practicing before we go out because I get to hang out with my best friends. When performing we are closer to the crowd and it makes dancing for them so much easier,” Broer said.
