Kelly Snawerdt
The Print Editor of the Beak ‘n’ Eye is someone who stands on her own. Kelly Snawerdt is 17 years old and is keeping her position on staff as Print Editor into her senior year. She has been formally recognized for a feature story about the overemphasis of the STEM field at Davenport West High. This article received 3rd place in a state-wide competition.

She plans to study Speech Language Pathology at Iowa State. Kelly greatly values independence.

Kelly is quite fond of empowerment of all kinds, valuing being yourself and taking life by the reigns, leading it to where you want to go.

Snawerdt plans to hopefully work for the university newspaper at Iowa State once she enrolls. Even if her planned major shifts away from journalism .she will always have a respect for the field thanks to friends bringing her onto the paper.
