Moving on: Amanda Loucks

“I think one of my favorite memories at West is one of my first English classes of the school year. The kids came in and it started off pretty rough, but by the end of the term, I noticed the change and how much they had grown. I loved how into the things we were doing [they were] and actually enjoyed being there,”

Did you know: tunnels under West

Did you know there are tunnels running beneath West? These tunnels were created as a fallout shelter during the times of the Cold War in case of a nuclear threat. They would provide protection for the whole west side of Davenport.

The Mississippi Athletic Conference (MAC) wrestling meet was hosted at West on Sat. Jan. 27. The teams that participated were Davenport North, Davenport Central, Davenport Assumption, Davenport West, Muscatine, Clinton, Burlington, North Scott, Bettendorf, and Pleasant Valley.
