      Jon Ripslinger’s yearbook photo from when he taught at West in 1973. Ripslinger did not write while he was teaching because he worked part-time jobs outside of West to provide for his six kids. His legacy at West lives on through his daugher and English teacher Jane Kroening.

        Trolls on strolls

      •  “It’s really upsetting that I had my last day stepping foot in West High School as a student and I didn’t even know it,” senior Alex Solbrig said. 

Unable to celebrate on the graduation stage, Solbrig celebrates her high school accomplishments at home and is ready for whatever her future brings.

      • As flights were cancelling, Westerhof noticed a large drop in the amount of people traveling through the airports. “The airports were pretty busy when we were on our way there, but on the way home people were more scarce and everything was closed," sophomore Claire Westerhof said.

      • In 2019, the  Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center collected well over 1000 donations from only six schools. This does not include donations from places such as churches or donations given at one the local buildings.
