The Freddie Falcon pageant Nov. 5. will have eight guys competing for the title by doing special performances, hilarious dance moves, and answering different round of questions.

“I’m super excited because I think it’s gonna be funny and I don’t know what everyone else is doing so i’m going to be just as surprised as everyone else.” said contestant Austin Black.  When asked what he will be doing at the pageant, he said “I’m gonna try to bring out my inner Hulk Hogan. Get ready for Hulkamania baby, or should I say…Austinmania.”

To attend the pageant during Block 4, get a form signed by your teacher and purchase a $3 ticket from the Activities Office before or after school. Proceeds go to the West Student Hunger Drive.

Senate has done several fundraisers for the Hunger Drive. On Oct. 24.  West had the fun run and about 30 people came out to run. The run had many sponsors and raised a large number of cans and money for the food drive.

In addition, Senate just sponsored the neon dance on Oct. 28 and 20 or so people came out to dance the night away. West has been successful in our attempts to collect lots of food but we’re not finished yet.

Senate has been to eight local schools to tell younger students about the hunger drive and to get their support as well as ours. The hunger drive ends on Nov. 12. All of the food collected will go to the Riverbend Foodbank, and will then be donated to those in need.

Student senate president Carolyn Wojtkowski strongly believes in the hunger drive. “Student senate is always extremely busy during the food drive,” she said. “ Even though it’s a lot of work, we love it. It’s awesome seeing our student body come together to collect cans and money for people in need.”
