Dodgeball matchup starts Homecoming events

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball; at least that’s how students at West spent their Wednesday night on Sept. 16  The first round dodgeball tournament for Homecoming was held and it has kids excited for the weeks ahead.

With a total of five teams, the dodgeball tournament didn’t reach expectations. “We expected a bigger turnout,” said Student Senator Jim Heinrichs, “but for the next dodgeball tournament we will get the word out sooner.”

Senate made a little over $200 to go towards homecoming. With many other events coming up within the next week, Senate is hopeful for lots of school spirit and large turnouts to all.

“Dodgeball is one of my favorite things about high school.” says senior Angilee Rhoden, a member of the first place team, “Colton’s Team.” “There is something about coming together and playing a game you all love.”

The next round of dodgeball will be Monday, Sept.28. Grab nine friends, with at least two girls, and see if you’ve got what it takes to beat “Colton’s Team.”
