Davenport West is welcoming a new gym teacher to their staff roster, and his name is Patrick Schrodt. Before West he taught at Village High School in Colorado, where he spent his first three years of teaching. This year will be his fourth year.
When Schrodt was deciding between schools the only thing he knew for sure was that he wanted to teach in a Davenport school. There are three of them: Davenport Central, Davenport North, and Davenport West. His first priority was trying to find gym teacher availability, and to his surprise there was only one open slot, so in a way West chose him.
Something Schrodt enjoys about west include, “I actually am a huge fan of the new schedule, I think it’s great that students are up and moving every 45 minutes. It also allows more phone time than with the regular schedule which I think students should enjoy.”
He is a typical gym teacher when it comes to hobbies; he enjoys playing sand volleyball and a bunch of other outdoor activities.
