Matthew Hennes is a seasoned educator joining us with years of experience. Previously at Pleasant Valley for five years, Hennes has also taught at Muscatine and Clark, a school just south of Des Moines. This marks his eleventh year teaching, and we are thrilled he has chosen to continue that at West as a teacher in the Science Department! With his experiences, Hennes has previously taught on an eight period day, so it comes natural to him. However, he empathizes with his students adapting to that unfamiliar schedule, acknowledging the challenges it presents. Beyond the classroom, Hennes is a busy father to three children, ages ten, si, and three. Henne’s wealth of experience and dedication to his family undoubtedly translate through his teaching and we are so delighted to have Matthew Hennes join our Falcon Family!
