Lynn Smith may be new to the building, but she is not new to school nursing or nursing in general. Smith has been a school nurse in the Davenport District for 14 years, all spent at Madison Elementary. However, she has been a nurse for 36 years in total. “I chose to move to West because it’s a great opportunity to meet new challenges and experiences. This will foster new growth and develop new skills, knowledge and expertise. You’re never too old to learn new things,” Smith said. Some things she enjoys about Davenport West so far include, “The people I am meeting are so nice, and everyone here is so open and friendly,” Smith said. Outside of school she likes hiking in national parks. Her goal or dream is to hike all 63 of them, she has already hiked 22 as of right now.
